Am I A Writer Now? No, Not Yet.

So it seems that I haven’t posted in like two months. Holy crap! Sorry about that, I guess I’ve been busier than I thought. I’ve just started writing for The Married Gamers and it seems to be going well. I recently just reviewed Assassin’s Cree III: Liberation and I am pretty pleased with it. I hope that the more I continue to write, the better I will become. Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a writer and I feel like this could be my chance, so any support from those who read my blog, would be much appreciated. ❤ But I don’t want to call myself a writer just yet, writing a couple posts and saying “I’m a writer now” just feels wrong. That’s like taking a couple of cooking classes and then calling yourself a chef. It’ll take some time, but I truly hope to become a real writer someday.

My Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Review

And here is just a link to all of my posts I’ve done on their site.

I’ll make a real blog post again very soon, but you can always find me on Twitter (@Pwncess074) to see me ramble about things. Thanks for reading.

Why, Batman? Why Do You Hate Me So?

Why do you seem to hate me, Batman? Or is it you, Rocksteady, that dislikes me so? *cues tragedy music and rain whilst doing dramatic hand on forehead gesture* Ok, ok, so I can be a bit dramatic. But when you think you’re almost going to finish something that you’ve invested many many hours in, and then discover that it’s impossible and you’ll have to start again, you would be too.

Batman Arkham City Promo Scene

I’m a huge fan of Batman Arkham Asylum, and thought Rocksteady did an amazing job with it. And when they announced Batman Arkham City, I swooned and my heart raced with excitement. I wondered how they could top such an awesome game. And when it released, I was thrilled that they somehow managed to do so. I spent many hours on my first run through just enjoying it all, soaking in the scenery and the delivering some satisfying brutal justice to criminals. I had stopped playing back in May, all I had left to do was to find the Riddler and beat him (which was very anti-climactic by the way). Or so I thought. Continue reading

Opinions, Not For The Easily Offended *Updated

I swear it seems like the interwebz has been in an uproar a bit too often as of late. I think it must be the lack of new games coming out right now (FIX IT YOU GAME DEVS). Anyway, todays drama is about an article posted on CNN by Joe Peacock called Booth Babes Need Not Apply. His post is basically about fake geek girls who attend conventions for attention and how it is hurting the community as a whole. I personally really liked his article and except for one or two sentences, found it to match my feelings perfectly. I highly recommend reading it so that you’ll understand the rest of this post. Now I will try to be as elaborate as possible about my feelings toward this topic, cause I’ve seen what it can do to you if you aren’t.

When I saw Joe’s article come up in my Twitter feed, I decided to give it look-see, and I was pleasantly surprised when I did. His post reminded me of the one I posted a few months back about fake gamer girls. Sure mine was about gamer girls and his is about geeky girls, but the basic idea is the same, we hate fakers. Well it seems a bunch of people got super offended by his post,

Polyvore – COG’s Night Out

I’m a huge pinterest addict and one of the things I love to browse through is the outfits that people create. My only problem with that, is they never seem to be my style. So last week I finally discovered the site that they use to create those amazing and cute getups. It’s called Polyvore. Some of you may already know of it and use it, but I’m behind on things from time to time. Especially if it’s fashion related. I’ve decided I want to make some outfits that I would actually wear, and I’m following the lead of Console 2 Closet and design some outfits based off of video games.

Shoes For The Gamer In You

Nine years ago, I met one of the most talented artists I know, and I’ve been lucky enough to call him my best friend. I’ve always been so jealous of how good he is at drawing anything he wants. I remember in high school he sketched a perfect likeness of Gandhi. Recently he’s been doing some canvas shoes, and they came out beautifully. I hope to get a pair from him pretty soon myself, maybe even try some custom heels to appease my girly side. Here are some pictures of his latest shoes inspired by Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask and Portal 2. You can get those, or custom made ones with anything you want on them, here.

Retro Lancer Now In 3 New Flavors! I Mean… Colors.

If you’re like me, you may be a huge Gears of War fan. You may have also seen the Retro Lancer props that came out when Gears 3 released in November last year, and like me, drooled and squealed at the opportunity to get one from GameStop. I splurged on all the Gears 3 things available from GameStop, including the original gunmetal retro lancer. When the gold one came out, I wanted it as well, but I didn’t have enough Powerup Points to get it from GameStop and not enough moola to get it from eBay, I am still very envious of those who have the gold one.

Well GameStop has now given you more reasons to be drooling, envious, and of course, to shell out a few hundred bucks. They’ve come up with three new Retro Lancer colors based off of the most popular skins used in Gears 3.

20120419-120108.jpg Team Metal (Blue),

20120419-121256.jpg and Electric Green.

If you want any of these beauties, it’ll cost ya $99.99. They’re available for preorder now and will be here June 1, 2012. So if you missed out last time and would like one of these Limited Edition Retro Lancers, you should break into that piggy bank and get over to GameStop and pre-order yours. I’m not usually very big on pink, but I am seriously liking that Deadly Cute. Though Team Metal is a close second.

Life Is Good and Always Getting Better

Hello there, friends! More exciting things happening in the world of Sam. Remember when I mentioned that I was a community manager for Talking About Games? Well, it’s gotten even better. I was asked to be a host on the Talking About Gamers podcast! Sure these things may sound silly to some, and it may be even sillier for me to be so excited about them, but I am absolutely thrilled. I really do love video games and the whole gaming community, and these things just let me embrace that and be more involved with it all. Sure I have been a little apprehensive with it all, I don’t want to intrude on anything. But I think I am going to try to be a bit more outgoing with it. If I cross any lines, I’m sure they’ll tell me. Who knows, maybe the podcast will help with Likes and Followers for TAG. Our first recording will be this Sunday. I am excited and nervous. I hope I do a good job. I better start playing a few new games so I can be up to speed on it all. Continue reading

Hello Again, It’s Been Too Long

Hey there, so we are going on like, what, a month of no new posts? Sorry about that folks. I’ve been meaning to post something and then things just get in the way or I am too tired to do so. There have been a lot of changes going on lately and I’m still adjusting to it all. I guess I could just go ahead and get you up to speed on things. Ready for a mini novel?
