11 Months Already?! How Can This Be?

Oh my gosh! How did this happen?! Where, oh where has the time gone? Ally is 11 months now and on the 31st she will be a year. A year! It’s just so hard to believe. It feels like only yesterday that the nurses were handing her to me and I was holding my sweet baby girl in my arms for the first time. A lot has happened since then, and she’s grown into quite the little determined and inquisitive drama queen. She began walking last week, I was so proud. It was just so amazing to watch her let go of the couch and take off to her play area without any help. Now she’s walking all over the place. I love it! But I know that this just means that there’s more trouble for her to get into, and I’ll need to take baby proofing and turn it to toddler proofing. Yea, good luck with that. Haha. This month will be a busy one. I’m working on her first birthday party, and of course I want it to be perfect. I have a vision in my head and now I just need to make it a reality. Her theme will be Alice in Wonderland, and I’m just so excited! My little Ally in Wonderland, she will be so adorable! I can’t wait!

Besides planning Ally’s birthday, there’s been other things going on. The wedding for my friends, Robyn and Nate, finally happened over the weekend. It was such a beautiful wedding, and Robyn was a truly gorgeous bride. But I won’t lie, I was dying the entire time. Heels and I don’t seem to get a long very well. I’d much rather wear my converse. My feet still hurt. It was an honor to be apart of that day though and I just kept telling myself “I love Robyn, I love Robyn” otherwise, I would have kicked those heels off and ran through the fountain. Even if she would have killed me for it. The venue was amazing, the A&M Gardens in Azle is such a beautiful place. I remember planning my wedding and wanting it to be there, but that place books up a year in advance and I threw my wedding together in a month. I was pregnant and I swore I would be married before I brought a child into this world. So Mykal, being the amazing man that he is, said that when it comes time to renew our vows, we will put all the effort into it that I couldn’t put into our wedding day the first time around. Also, we will take a real honeymoon. And as wonderful as that sounds, I won’t be upset if we never renew our vows, because it’s the marriage that counts, not the wedding. And I have a wonderful marriage. Ok, let’s stop the sappiness right here for today, we can sappy another day. (This isn’t my favorite picture, but unfortunately Mykal can’t take a picture without making a face, and this is the only one where he looked normal haha. Oh that man.)

As you know, I’ve been watching my Granny instead of working. That’s been great for everyone. And while I want to continue doing it, I just can’t let my bills get out of hand. So back to work I’ll be going. Hopefully. I have an interview this week and I’m hoping it goes well. It’ll only be part time, I don’t want to do anymore than that. I’ve also got a few other things in the works and maybe one of these days I’ll be able to stay home again. Oh I’ve loved staying home with Ally. It’s been the best thing ever. I get to watch her grow and teach her things. But Granny has been doing well and I can still check on her when I won’t be working. She’s able to walk around the house now, so that’s great and makes me feel confident that she doesn’t need a 24/7 sitter.

I’m still podcasting. It is still so much fun! I’ve been getting better at it, I just have to remember to keep a mentality like Robbie, “It’s just some friends talking like we do over xbox. No biggie.” I always seem to over think it and so I screw up. And today I missed it entirely. I was so tired from the wedding and going to see the Avengers last night, that I slept most of the day. I’ll be back on it next week. Be sure to listen and follow Talking About Games on Facebook so you’ll get the new episodes (You can find that on the right of my blog). By the way, the Avengers is awesome! If you haven’t seen it yet, go right now. Literally jump in your car and go. And if you have seen it, you’ll understand when I tell you to go see it again. Just be sure to stay after both sets of credits. We were the only ones who stayed through it all. Well, us and the cop who monitors the theatre, he didn’t know it was there at the very end and said it was worth it. I love meeting cool cops. Shout out to the cop. Haha.

I guess that about covers it. I’ve got to go get some sleep. I’m going to be an aunt at some point today and I want to be well rested to go and see my new baby niece later. I’ll be sure to post pictures of baby Mia when she gets here.

Avengers assemble! (for bed, night all).
